I’ve got a buddy who’s a welder, and he complains to me all the time about how hot it gets in his shop, especially in the summer. He said he’s afraid he’s going to get heat stroke and go down. I told him that eSafetyStore.com has the perfect solution to his problem: The KewlFlow™ Circulatory Cooling Vest.
This is a lightweight, polyester mesh vest that contains over 50’ of flexible microtubing that weaves its way through the fabric of the vest, front and back, creating a network of tubing. The tubing is then connected to a hose that runs to a cooler filled with ordinary ice and water. A pump in the cooler pumps ice water through the hose and into the tubing in the vest, where it circulates all around the vest, providing cool comfort for up to four hours. And when it stops cooling, all you have to do is refill the cooler with ice and water, and you’re back in business!
I thought that this would be great for my buddy. He can wear the KewlFlow Cooling Vest under his welding gear and stay cool and comfortable, no matter how hot it gets in his shop.
This system would be great for a lot of jobs, like working in a steel mill or a foundry, or if you’re outside in the sun all day. You can get it with an insulated backpack instead of the cooler, so you can carry your ice water around with you for complete portability.
The vest is comfortable enough to wear all day. It’s lightweight, fast-wicking, quick-drying and breathable, with a front zipper that makes it easy to get on and off. It comes in multiple sizes, and each size is adjustable for a perfect fit.
The cooler has a 100% nylon carrying case and includes a water reservoir, the pump, and a 12V connector. It can also be powered by a 110VAC to 12VDC adapter or a battery pack with AA alkaline batteries.
The backpack’s pump can run continuously for up to 8 hours on 10 NiMH rechargeable batteries or on a quick-change power pack containing 8 alkaline AA batteries. An optional 12V power cord allows unit to operate from the accessory power outlet of a vehicle.
My buddy is a pretty cool guy, but he’s going to be even cooler once he gets himself outfitted with a KewlFlow Circulatory Cooling Vest. Who knew that welding could be so cool?
