An evaporative cooling vest, phase change cooling vest or circulatory cooling vest system can make all the difference on a hot jobsite. The simple addition of this small piece of cooling apparel can help prevent heat stress and keep workers cool.

Phase Change Vest

Phase Change Cooling Vests. The phase change vest uses chilled phase change inserts to maintain a comfortable cooling temperature (around 58 degrees F) for up to four hours. These inserts absorb body heat, which keeps the wearer cool.

Evaporative Cooling Vest

Evaporative Cooling Vests. The evaporative cooling vest works the same way that sweat does, without the smelly side effects. Evaporative cooling vests are extremely absorbent. Just soak in cold water, and in a couple of minutes cooling polymers or cooling crystals in the vest absorb water and are able to hold it for hours. As the water evaporates it takes heat with it, keeping the wearer cool.

Circulatory Cooling CoolShirt

Circulatory Cooling Vests and Systems. One of the coolest (pardon the pun) ways to combat heat stress on the job is a circulatory cooling vest. The CoolShirt system is one example. Each CoolShirt has 50 feet of medical-grade capillary tubing stitched to the front and back. Cold water pumps through the tubing and keeps the wearer extremely cool. The cool water pumps from a cooling station (which includes a large cooler and pump) or from one of several portable cooling options. The system is ideal for use by first responders or welders.
